Press Release Friday 09 May 2014
Due to a heavy demand, Click Energy has introduced a new feature to its popular Quick Quote tool that lets solar panel owners compare their current solar electricity rates from another provider to those of Click Energy’s.
The improved Quick Quote, originally launched in March this year, quickly became popular among consumers shopping around for a new electricity plan. Shortly after the launch, Click Energy noticed that solar panel owners formed a significant user group of the tool, which encouraged the electricity retailer to improve it to cater also to solar customers’ needs.
Quick Quote’s solar feature has proven particularly popular among Queensland residents with solar panels after it was announced that the Queensland government is going to axe the government-funded 8-cent solar feed-in tariff in some parts of the state starting from the beginning of July.
Click Energy’s solar feed-in tariff of 10-cents, which is the highest retailer-funded solar feed-in tariff in the country, has incentivised many people to try out Quick Quote and analyse their savings, were they to switch from their current plan to Click Energy’s solar plan.
Says David McNeil, Click Energy’s General Manager of Customer Experience: “The new solar feature is the next logical step for Click Energy in its mission to becoming more transparent about the offered electricity rates. We want our website visitors to easily see how much they could save if they signed up to Click and we do not want to force them to go through the Energy Price Factsheets if they were just after a quick quote.”
The company aims to develop the functionality of Quick Quote further, with other useful features planned for the near future. One of the upcoming new features will enable visitors to get even more precise electricity quotes than is possible at present, when Quick Quote begins to take into account both peak and off-peak tariffs.
