Click Energy Enters the Natural Gas Market

As a disrupter in the electricity sector for almost nine years, Click Energy will be adding ‘natural gas retailer’ to their repertoire on 2 February 2015.

The second tier energy company has made strong headway in the pursuit to increase their market share amongst retail giants such as Origin Energy and AGL. With a mere 19,000 customers less than three years ago, a change in ownership created the opportunity for Click Energy to grow to the nearly 100,000 customer base they hold today.

The announcement to sell natural gas to Victorian residents comes at a time when media discussion surrounding this fuel is at an all-time high.

Mallory Martel, Click Energy’s Marketing Communications Manager, says, “Competition in Victoria, as the first state to be deregulated, has always been fierce. Previously, we were only able to partially fulfil the energy needs of our customers, which left them turning to competitors to provide a gas supply to their home. We are pleased to be able to offer a one-stop-energy-shop to our Victorian customers.”

On Monday, existing Click Energy customers will receive an email inviting them to be the first to sign up to a competitive new gas plan.

Customers can expect similar features to Click Energy’s electricity plans, including total bill discounts, no exit fees and emailed monthly bills.

Click Energy’s CEO, Dominic Drenen explains, “With rising gas prices across the marketplace we feel it’s important for customers to be able to choose an energy company with a low cost model that is independent.  With a simple online sign up process, convenient monthly billing and no lock in contracts we expect to rapidly grow our gas customer base, just like we have done with electricity.  This is an exciting time for our business and for our customers.”
