On Thursday 16 June 2011, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout took place in capital cities across Australia, and our very own fearless leader, Mehdi Qerim, geared up to help raise money for this great cause.
In fact, only a few years ago…
The Sleepover began as a Parramatta local community venture in 2006. It was launched nationally in 2010, attracting almost 700 CEOs nationally and raising $2.9 million.
The event challenges business and community leaders to experience homelessness first-hand for one night – while raising money towards the ongoing provision of Vinnies’ homeless services across the country.
Click is all about making a difference.
It goes without saying that our MD is at the heart of this business philosophy, which is what spurred him to take part in the challenge and raise some much needed cash for a great cause.
The crew at 63 Cambridge Street (home of Click and its sister companies, Yoke Design and On The Move) were quick to jump onboard in helping Mehdi to raise money – we took it seriously, and we all took the opportunity to get creative!
(Plus, we were dying to see how he’d survive…)
We all love a challenge here. No, really!
Our fundraising efforts started with a bang. You name it, we probably thought of it… from the simple to the silly (and the not so silly), we all went into fundraising overdrive.
Over a few energy-charged days, we took to our partners, friends, clients and suppliers for support (and money). We wore ugg boots, bid on songs, ate donuts for breaky, counted chocolates in a jar, auctioned off Senior Managers, fired up the barbie for snags on bread… the buzz around the building just created more buzz, filling that money jar – CHA-CHING!
The biggest highlight? Watching our two of our esteemed colleagues, shave for the cause (their heads that is!).
The Click, Yoke and OTM teams are proud to have helped Mehdi in raising almost$12,000 in support of the St Vinnies CEO Challenge.
We’d like to give a super-huge THANKS to everyone for their support and generosity, and of course, look forward to hearing more stories from the sleepover (including 'the night Mehdi slept with Kevin Rudd!').
Bye for now
Team Click
